Feyer is building AI for physical invention. We are a lab backed by SPRIND’s Next Frontier AI Challenge. We use differentiable simulators to invent new hardware setups in physics domains such as optics or quantum technology, and train models to explore these vast design spaces beyond the reach of conventional optimization.

You’ll work on an ambitious research problem with direct ownership, significant compute, and the opportunity to turn new ideas into real physical inventions.

This job is a paid 3–6 month PhD research internship, working 80–100% in Munich or Tübingen.

Responsibilities include

• Training models on large JAX computational graphs
• Building and benchmark learned optimizers and non-local search methods
  
• Building scalable data-generation and GPU-training pipeline

Minimum requirements include

• Enrolled PhD in machine learning or a related field
• Experience with JAX
• Ability to conduct careful, independent research

Preferred

• Experience training graph-based models
• Experience training foundation models
• Physics expertise is welcome but not required
