The "Strategy & Innovation" division of Munich Reinsurance (Munich Re) is responsible for MR’s group strategy, organizational development, Global Sales and Distribution and for Climate Change Solutions. The Climate Change Solutions department is the internal Center of Competence on all topics around natural hazards and climate change. We advise internal stakeholders with data, expertise and business knowledge and support Munich Re’s opinion leadership on natural catastrophes and climate change.
Your job:
• Researching current natural catastrophes
for our natural catastrophe loss database,
worldwide and in several languages
• Entering loss events and maintaining and
updating the database
• Statistical analysis of natural
catastrophes
• Creating maps with ArcGIS and PowerPoint
presentations on natural catastrophes and
climate-related topics
• Working on current climate projects,
evaluations and analytical support for internal
and external communication
Your profile:
• Bachelor's/Master's degree in the fields
of geo and environmental sciences, meteorology,
statistics
• Very good knowledge of MS Office
applications (Excel, PowerPoint) and good language
skills in English, French and/or Spanish
• Interest in the topic of natural hazards
and natural disasters, very precise way of
working, confident with numbers, team spirit and
independent working
• Programming knowledge in Python would be
an advantage
• Confident with ArcGIS Pro, statistics and
data analysis
Students from countries outside the EU require a German residence-/work permit.
