Software & Embedded Systems Engineer (Early Engineer / Co-Founder)

About Equalrise:
At Equalrise, we’re building an intelligent home-use robot that helps people with chronic diseases. Our mission is to support healthier lives through robotics and AI that make daily healthcare routines simpler and more human.
We’re looking for a Software & Embedded Systems Engineer who will build the digital and electronic brain of Adhero — integrating AI-powered software with the physical robot.

Your Role
You’ll design and develop the system UI/UX, control systems, firmware, and software integration for Adhero’s first prototype. You’ll work very closely with the hardware engineers to connect sensors, actuators, and software logic into one cohesive, intelligent system.

Key Responsibilities:
● Develop embedded software to control and operate hardware components like motors, sensors.
● Build communication interfaces between hardware and cloud/app systems.
● Implement IoT connectivity (WiFi/Bluetooth) and device firmware updates.
● Support integration of speech APIs,AI modules
● Design and build a simple, empathetic user interface
● Set up the "System Code"—the Linux environment, security protocols, and OTA (Over-the-Air) update systems
● Prototype system logic using Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or ESP32 platforms.
● Ensure data security and reliability for health-related data transmission.
● Collaborate on testing, debugging, and optimizing the prototype with the hardware team.

Requirements
● Advanced Student of Computer Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
● Experience in embedded systems, robotic algorithms,UI/UX and robotics projects.
● Proficiency in C/C++, Python,Linux.
● AI/ML Knowledge: Experience implementing and optimizing LLMs (like Llama or GPT) and Computer Vision (OpenCV)
● Experience with Raspberry Pi / Arduino hardware development.
● Understanding of communication protocols (UART, I2C, SPI, MQTT).
● Ability to work independently and iterate rapidly.
