We are looking for a motivated Master’s student to join our Research & Development team at Wabio, a cutting-edge biogas technology company based in Munich.

Who we are
Wabio is a technology leader in biogas, providing high-tech large-scale biogas plants. By upgrading organic waste to renewable energy, we are actively contributing to a more sustainable future —and striving to stay at the forefront of innovation.

What you will do
Your work will be divided into two main areas:
Practical experimentation – You’ll be directly involved in hands-on lab and plant-based experimentation. This requires a solid understanding of biological processes and a solutionoriented mindset.
Research and analysis – You’ll also dive into scientific and technical research. This includes exploring ongoing internal projects as well as tackling spontaneous questions from clients or colleagues. Topics can be adapted based on your specific interests and expertise.

You will be an integral part of the team, contributing actively to discussions and the development of real solutions.

What we are looking for
We are looking for a motivated Master’s student interested in both the biological and industrial aspects of biogas. A background in biochemistry, biotechnology, or bioengineering is a plus, but students from chemistry, electrochemistry, or industrial engineering are also
welcome if eager to learn more about microbiology. The role is both hands-on and research driven, so we value curiosity, proactivity, and a practical, solution-oriented mindset. Good spoken English is required.

What we offer
We offer a paid internship with a minimum duration of three months, but we're flexible regarding the total length and weekly working hours. Our office is located in the city center of Munich, with regular visits to a biogas plant in the countryside. You'll be fully integrated into the team and have the chance to contribute concretely to innovative and sustainable projects. We are open to hire at the end of the internship.
