Huawei’s Manufacturing Technology Center in Weilheim is responsible for advanced technical research. Our mission is to implement latest R&D ideas with modern automation technology. Our R&D Team for "Advanced Laser Process Development" is currently looking for hands-on support to operate our fs-laser lab laser equipment and help to expand its capabilities to stay cutting-edge. You will work closely with laser experts, technology specialists and laser process engineers. You will collaborate with colleagues from other R&D teams at our campus and gain insights into the powerful EU ecosystem.

*Main Responsibilities:
*• Development and optimization of femtosecond laser processes (ablation, structuring, cutting, drilling, joining) for micro/nano applications
• Prepare plans for feasibility studies of laser process and methods of result analysis

• Operate advanced laser equipment, select and adjust suitable laser setup components and support in research of innovative optical systems for special and customized applications
• Assist in CAD design of mechanical CNC parts or 3D-printed components such as adapter plates, workpiece fixtures or optical mounts
• Support in programming small scripts to analyze measurement results
• Maintain the equipment and conduct laser beam measurements with the engineers
• Document processes and results, write and present technical reports

Requirements:
• Currently enrolled as Bachelor or Master study with a major of Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering or similar field (optics, photonics, simulation, automation, etc.)
• Ideally initial experience and theoretical knowledge in the field of lasers, optics and/or materials science, machine building
• Experience in programming (in any language) or using CAD software would be beneficial
• Structured, well-organized and independent way of working, quick comprehension, analytical and conceptual skills as well as a high degree of conscientiousness
• Ability to work in a team, initiative and motivation
• Strong communication skills in English, fluent in German would be beneficial
