Our Global Chip Dynamics Programme provides in-depth analysis and policy recommendations aimed at strengthening Europe’s role in the global semiconductor value chain. With a focus on technological competitiveness and sustainability, we identify and address transnational interdependencies while fostering international cooperation. Our goal is to secure Europe’s continued relevance and indispensability in this foundational industry by adopting a holistic approach that prioritizes effective, long-term policymaking in the public interest.
We are currently seeking two student assistants to support the programme starting in August/September 2025 (8–12 hours per week). The position can be done remotely and offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience at the intersection of technology policy, geopolitics, and sustainability.
Your tasks:
- Apply quantitative or qualitative research methods to understand and analyse current pressing topics and policy debates.
- Collect and process quantitative data (basic knowledge of Excel is sufficient).
- Support the writing and publishing process of policy analyses and data briefs.
- Support in preparing and implementing expert workshops and interviews.
Your profile:
- You are currently enrolled at a university or university of applied sciences (remote work possible).
- You live and work in Germany.
- You are a team player yet work autonomous and with precision and foresight.
- You enjoy (technical) research deep dives, typically conducted independently.
- You understand and ideally have previous experience with data, such as data collection, data processing, and data analysis.
- You have experience in research through internships or academia.
- You are open to working on a remote team.
- You are proficient in spoken and written English (C2 level).

- A student employment contract, which can be extended to a maximum of two years
